Corinne Bailey Rae is a Jamaican born singer-songwriter based in London. She has been active in the music industry since she was 12 years old, when she began singing and playing guitar in a series of bands. In 2002, she released her debut album Corinne Bailey Rae, which reached Number 1 in the UK Albums Chart and spawned her first major number one single "Put It In A Love Song", which stayed at the top spot for two weeks. Her second studio album, The Sea, was released in 2005 and featured collaborations with Brian Eno and Jack White
Her third studio album, The Bailey Rae LP, was released in 2007 and featured a collaboration with Jamie Cullum. Her fourth studio album, The Lion Sessions, was released in 2013 and featured collaborations with Paul Weller and others. As a result of her success, Corinne has received numerous awards including three MOBO Awards (Best Female Artist 2006, Best Album 2006 & Best Newcomer 2006), an Ivor Novello award for Best Song Musically & Lyrically (for "Put It In A Love Song" 2006), an MOBO Lifetime Achievement award (2012) and has been nominated twice for British Female Solo Artist of the Year (2006 & 2009).
